Cats Engineer Demise Of The Wolf-Dog Of Maine

FOX News:

TURNER, Maine — Residents are wondering if an animal found dead over the weekend may be the mysterious creature that has mauled dogs, frightened residents and been the subject of local legend for half a generation.

The animal was found near power lines along Route 4 on Saturday, apparently struck by a car while chasing a cat.

In the end, wildlife officials got a DNA analysis that showed the animal was a rare wolf-dog hybrid.

I think the cats knew what they were doing.

Dogs and wolves have the same DNA. So, I don’t believe the wildlife people checked the DNA. Also, a dog or wolf, on its own, cannot survive for any length of time. Especilly, Maine winters.
It was probably a deformed dog.

  • Rossignol Says:

Surely Wolves and Dogs have *similar* DNA. The same DNA would make them the same animals, which they are patently not?

  • Dagmar Says:

Well, yeah, they have slightly the same DNA. But wolves are different. They WOULD be able to survive on their own!!!!
